Samia ElHashmi on Sudan

Our colleague Samia ElHashmi has spent her career trying to increase access to justice for women and vulnerable groups in Sudan. She was recently appointed by the Justice Minister in Sudan’s transitional government to lead a committee reviewing the country’s personal status law for Muslims. She took part in a discussion on advancing the role of women in Sudan's transition, led by Chatham House.

Zahra’ Langhi on Libya

Co-founder and CEO of the Libyan Women’s Platform for Peace, Zahra’ Langhi spoke last week on the transition and prospects for planned parliamentary elections in Libya. Her contribution came in the 1st Hume conference, paying tribute to the work of Nobel Peace laureate David Hume.
