Opportunities and Challenges to Achieving Peace in Yemen

As the Riyadh Talks on Yemen continue, Karama hosted a discussion jointly with leading organizations led by Yemeni women - the Sisters Arab Forum for Human Rights and the Women's Voices for Peace Network.

“Riyadh Consultations: Opportunities and Challenges to Achieving Peace in Yemen” provided a platform largely denied at the official talks for civil society and activists to discuss priorities and the situation in Yemen,

Amal Basha, Director of the Sisters Arab Forum, stressed that it is necessary for the voice of civil society to be heard in the Riyadh process. She touched on the fact that these broader discussion and the issues they raise are vital, and it remains necessary to interact with it, and we look forward to having positive results despite the “different reactions regarding the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, between optimism and despair, between silence and indifference”.
