To be a woman or a girl in Palestine is to be subject not only to the gendered violence and oppression of occupation, but to patriarchal oppression as well. As an academic, activist and leader, Dr Lily Feidy has been at the forefront of Karama’s regional and international activism. As an East Jerusalemite, she brings remarkable perspective on the impact of occupation on all aspects of life for Palestinians.

In 2018, Randa became the first Palestinian woman to address the UN Security Council. her organization the Women’s Center for Legal Aid and Counselling provides vital support to women and girls in Palestine.
